Temperance, MI; Rolled Alloys announces the grand opening of their stainless bar sales and processing facility located in Streamwood, IL. The 33,000 sq. ft. facility will inventory Rolled Alloys Machining (RAM) quality round bar in grades 303, 304/L and 316/L. Their inventory will also include 303 hex bar, 303HST, 17-4PH round bar, LDX 2101 (lean duplex stainless) and RA 253MA round bar. This facility will also have 3 Kasto bar saws that can cut up to 10” diameter bar. Mike Rinker, General Manager, along with his staff of sales, purchasing and operations employees are very excited about their new facility and the opportunity to serve local customers in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana and Minnesota stainless bar market. “Our ambition is to be the premier service provider and marketer of specialty stainless bar products in the mid-west” added Rinker. RA 253 MA® is considered a lean austenitic heat resistant alloy and obtains its heat resistant properties by advanced control of micro alloy additions. The use of rare earth metals in combination with silicon, provide RA 253 MA® with properties superior to many nickel alloys, while maintaining a low nickel content (11%) and excellent economy. RA 253 MA® possesses superior oxidation resistance to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, high creep rupture strength, excellent resistance to thermal shock and good weldability.
