Rolled Alloys Announces New Water Jet Processing Capabilities for Bar Products

Windsor, CT and Richburg, SC – Rolled Alloys announces expanded processing capabilities with the investment in two Wardjet 1515 E Series Abrasive Water Jet systems.  Each unit is equipped with a 60-inch x 60-inch bed and will be operational in December 2018. These water jets are targeted toward smaller near net shape parts up to 4 inches thick and cut from bar, sheet, or plate.

“By combining water jet cutting, extensive bar inventories, and our bar sawing capabilities we can now quickly supply a near net shape part to either a bar or plate specification. This gives our customers incredible flexibility to reduce machining time and scrap loss,” states Jason Wilson, Director of Bar Products at Rolled Alloys.

“Stainless steels, nickel, and titanium are notoriously difficult to machine. Producing parts from bar rather than plate will improve the overall customer experience.  Round bar chemistries are commonly optimized for machinability so faster speeds and better tool life are realizable.  Additionally, lower residual stresses help reduce movement during machining.”

As one of the largest suppliers of stainless steels, nickel, cobalt and titanium alloys, Rolled Alloys maintains 13 locations across North America and Asia, with additional representatives in Europe. For additional information about the company, please visit
