CORROSION 2015 Conference

Rolled Alloys has been a long time participant in NACE® International – The Worldwide Corrosion Authority.

NACE International was founded in 1943 by a group of corrosion engineers involved with the pipeline industry as the “National Association of Corrosion Engineers”.  The original regional group was focused on the study and application of cathodic protection. Since that time, NACE International has expanded to provide support for the understanding of corrosion in any form and corrosion prevention in any industry or environment.  It is the global leader in developing corrosion prevention and control standards, certification and education.  In 2002, a study initiated by NACE International and supported by the US Federal Highway Administration estimated annual costs of corrosion and corrosion control in the US to be $276 billion. This study, Corrosion Costs and Preventative Strategies in the United States, is available on the NACE International website – www.NACE.org

Many of our Rolled Alloys Metallurgical Services (RAMS) Group engineers are members of NACE International and have presented papers, chaired symposia sessions or participated in Technical Committee activities.  Not surprisingly, there are corrosion issues in every industry that Rolled Alloys serves and NACE International has at least one Technical Committee for each of them.  Our industry involvement includes Aerospace, High Temperature, Refining and CPI, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Environmental Control and Desalination.  These Technical Committees provide the opportunity to remain up to date on problems and solutions.

The main event – the annual Corrosion Conference and Exhibition is being held March 15 – 19 at the Dallas Convention Center.  Rolled Alloys’ engineering staff will again be in attendance.  In addition to the technical activities, Rolled alloys will also be exhibiting.  Our booth location is #15014. At least one of our engineers will be present during exhibit hours to answer questions on alloy selection or fabrication.  Please stop in and visit to learn more about specialty corrosion and heat resistant alloys like AL-6XN®, ZERON 100®, RA 253 MA®, RA330® and RA 602 CA®.  Or see if our shape cutting processes (high definition plasma, abrasive waterjet, laser) can save you time and money.

If you are not able to attend CORROSION 2015, consider visiting our booth at one of the other exhibitions we are attending this year.  We will be at the Global Petroleum Show (Calgary – June), ACHEMA (Frankfurt – June), Heat Treat Show (Detroit – October), Fabtech (Chicago – November) and PowerGen (Las Vegas – December).
